Elliot Josephine Leila Reichert’s article “The Integrity of the Exhibit: On Art, Censorship, and Palestine” will examine recent censorship of artworks and exhibitions about Palestine. She will interweave her own experience, as the curator of a canceled exhibition of Samia Halaby’s work, with analysis of the causes and repercussions of acts of artistic suppression.
Elliot Josephine Leila Reichert is a curator, critic, and editor. She is the inaugural curator of Contemporary Art at the Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University. Her writing has appeared in publications including The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, Journal of Visual Studies, Newcity Art, and The Seen.
