Natasha Degen is a freelance writer who has contributed to frieze, Artforum, The New York Times, and Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art. As a 2006 Luce Scholar, she lived in Beijing and worked as an arts editor for China Daily and as a writer for The Financial Times. She is currently based in the United Kingdom, where she is a Gates Scholar and PhD candidate at Cambridge University and a lecturer at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London. She received a BA from Princeton University.
